Elkhorn, NE: Coffee with Congressman Bacon

Congressman Don Bacon kicked off the week the morning of December 2 with coffee at Brookestone Meadows. Residents, patients and staff filled the room to hear what the Congressman has been working on in Washington, in addition to answering questions about current hot topics. The coffee was also attended by several Vetter Senior Living team members including Jack Vetter, Glenn Van Ekeren, Julie Knobbe and Karl Bieber.

Congressman Bacon reviewed several areas that are at the forefront of his work including, supporting our military, NE Agriculture, trade with China, setting kids up for success as they exit the foster care system, children’s fitness and combating the rise in Anti-Semitism.

No topic was off the table during the Q & A session and the Congressman thanked the room for asking hard questions that are top of mind for Americans. Congressman Bacon emphasized that kindness matters, and there needs to be a collective effort at civility and diplomacy.

The atmosphere was very relaxed, and we were thrilled to capture a picture in front of our Veteran Honor Wall. We thank the Congressman for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit with us. We look forward to seeing him again next year!
