Vetter Health Services: Nurse Leadership Orientation

The Clinical Coordinators were pleased to host a Nurse Leadership Orientation at the home office on September 10 through September 12th. Some of the roles of the Twenty-two Leadership Nurses who attended this orientation were Directors of Nursing, Assistant Directors of Nursing, Staff Development Coordinators as well as leadership nurses who oversee Infection Prevention, Restorative Services and Wound Care. During the first two days of the orientation, we covered multiple topics including Leadership, Daily Clinical Start-up, World Class Quality, Survey, Operating Standards, Antibiotic Stewardship, People Development, Admissions and many other educational topics. On the third day of the orientation, the Clinical Coordinators reviewed the Charge Nurse Training Manual with the group. The Leadership Nurses that attended the orientation were very interactive and passionate. The 2 ½ day orientation was very dynamic, thanks to the nurses that attended each day.

We felt that the orientation exemplified our Value of Excellence: We continually pursue opportunities to improve ourselves and the services we provide. We learn from our experiences, build on our successes, and make changes when changes are beneficial. We develop people’s strengths and remain committed to becoming the Best of the Best.

Thank you to all who attended our orientation and to the facilities who shared your leadership nurses with us. You truly help us to become the Best of the Best!
