Springfield, MO: Women and “Whine” the Golden Years

Posted in: VSL Community News

A group of ladies who live at Creekside embrace the aging process with grace, dignity, fellowship and “wine.” This group was established to socialize and share the “ups and downs” of the Golden Years one Monday night each month over a glass of wine. Normally, the “Women and Whine” group gets together at a restaurant but this past month they had a unique celebration on Campus at the Clubhouse.
Prior to their meeting in May, each lady put pen to paper and wrote their impressions of growing old and living life in their Golden years. Our resident poet, Neva Wortman, blended the thoughts together and created a Creekside Golden Years Poem that was shared at the event.
The party was spectacular! Delicious food and wine was served and the tables were decorated with vintage décor. The ladies were encouraged to dress in costume that represented their “inner self” which drives their positive attitude while aging. Their youthful energy was captured in fashions that earned some of them trophies!
This group of ladies know how to have fun, share their vulnerabilities, and support each other and age gracefully together!

Quality Life-We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
