Lake City, IA: Annual Volunteer Breakfast

Shady Oaks volunteers attended the Volunteer Breakfast held on May 17th. It is annual event that Shady Oaks honors its valued volunteers. A scrumptious buffet breakfast was served: bacon breakfast casserole, sausage and gravy on biscuits, French toast bake, ham slices, lemon bread, blueberry muffins, fresh fruits, coffee, orange juice and milk.
During the breakfast volunteers had an opportunity to socialize with each other and catch up on the news at Shady Oaks and in the community. Each volunteer also received a unique goody bag as a table favor with a thank you note attached. During the breakfast a drawing was held for door prizes: beautiful, blooming geraniums in red, white, and pink colors. Nearly half of the volunteers received geraniums! The grand door prize (a decorative, metal stand with a hanging basket of purple petunias) was a wonderful surprise for the single volunteer who was the lucky one to have her name drawn at the end of the breakfast. Everyone who attended the breakfast agreed that the meal was delicious, as always, and the opportunity to visit and see all the volunteers together was a very special time.

Quality Life-We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
