Iowa Falls, IA: EGGS-tra Special Art

“Hopping into EGGS-tra special art” — It’s such a joy to see the colors of spring and to capture them for all to see.

For a springtime art project, we chose to use eggs for our blank canvas and make Easter baskets for our dining room tables. Art incorporates not only imagination, but fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination as well. It’s always fun to see the designs each “painter” creates, as well as the color schemes used. Each “artist” said they can’t paint; yet when it’s done, they are amazed at what they see ! This project also found some staff taking a moment to create along with the residents. The eggs were painted with stripes, ladybugs, faces, swirls, and tie-dye look…beautifully created !

Painting is an illusion ( a piece of magic), because what you see (a plain white egg) is not what you see (the finished artwork). An artist is waiting inside each of us. What would your blank canvas reveal ??

Teamwork: Our relationships are built on mutual trust and respect. We recognize the value and worth of each person we are privileged to encounter, work with, and serve. We seek to understand what is important to others and let people know they are appreciated for who they are and what they do.
