Elkhorn, NE: Bake Sale for Flood Relief

Brookestone Meadows is in Elkhorn, NE which is located very close to the surrounding communities that experienced devastation due to the recent floods. As flood waters were rising, Brookestone Meadows was safe, and preparing for the potential to receive senior living residents from neighboring communities due to evacuations. By 3pm on Friday March 15th, all the main East/West roads located about a mile from Brookestone Meadows were closed.

Several team members were impacted by the flood, and in typical Brookestone Meadows fashion, immediately people began searching for ways to help.

We have learned that with 4 days notice, as a team and family, we are able to pick up donations from bakery’s, and bake up & package enough treats to raise $1,117! In addition to baked goods, bird houses hand built by Duane in Maintenance, were “flying” off the table. The Vetter Foundation is generously matching our efforts to $1,000.

We are PROUD to be Family Serving Family and Nebraska Strong.

Serving: We succeed by focusing our attention and energies on anticipating and exceeding people’s expectations. Our actions are driven by a “Yes, I Can” attitude and the commitment that we are “Family Serving Family.”
