Lincoln, NE: Social Drumming at Sumner Place

On Monday, March 18th Adventures in Social Drumming came to Sumner Place Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for some social drumming. Adventures in Social Drumming is out of Iowa and was originally established in 2007 to enhance social and communication skills to those on the autism spectrum. Today they provide their services to those of all ages and in many different communities. Each of our residents were given an instrument and a quick lesson was given before each song. They played a variety of different songs and they all had a special meaning to them. The energy in Sumner Place during this event was amazing. It was great to see the engagement and the smiles on our residents’ faces. We look forward to the next social drumming event.

Quality Life-We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
