Lake City, IA: Team Member Receives Honor

Shady Oaks is proud to announce that Elyse Schroeder, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), recently was awarded, from the Vetter Foundation, a $1000 scholarship to be used towards her nursing degree at Iowa Central Community College. She was chosen, among several applicants, by the committee for the number of hours that she worked, her responses on the application, and by the recommendation of the administrator. Elyse commented that her passion is to take care of people and make them feel as if they are the most important person in her life. She truly exhibits the Mission Vision, and Values that are the foundation of Shady Oaks. Elyse exceeds the resident’s expectations and displays a “Yes, I Can” attitude with every encounter she has with residents, families, and team members. She also serves as a mentor for new staff members and is always willing to answer questions or assist wherever she is needed. She was very honored to receive this award. We are so proud of Elyse for her outstanding long-term service and support to the residents she serves at Shady Oaks Care Center. Thank you, Elyse, for your continued dedication and service.

Teamwork: Our relationships are built on mutual trust and respect. We recognize the value and worth of each person we are privileged to encounter, work with, and serve. We seek to understand what is important to others and let people know they are appreciated for who they are and what they do.
