Alliance, NE: “Yeehaw Little Doggy” Cowboy Bingo!

Our residents here in western Nebraska love to have fun, and that they did last Wednesday at bingo! They love their bingo, and I am always trying to find new ways to make it even more fun and exciting! I was looking downstairs in my storage, and I found a big stack of straw cowboy hats. The wheels started turning, and I thought ‘what could I do with these’? Cowboy bingo!! I decorated the dining room with rope centerpieces and cardboard cutouts of cowboy boots, got bandannas for each resident, and dusted off the cowboy hats! And off we went! They had a blast, wearing their hats and tying the bandannas around their necks, some around their heads. It was priceless!! We also had the residents holler ‘yeehaw’ when they had a bingo, and laughter rang everywhere! Everyone participated, and they took their new hats to their rooms for more decor. I looked around while I was taking the photos, and I thought that this was exactly why I love what I do here!!This is what it is all about-quality of life!!!

Quality Life-We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
