Iowa Falls, IA: Honoring our Veteran’s

Those who live today remember those who did not. Those who know freedom remember today those who gave up life for freedom. Today, in honor of the dead, we conduct ceremonies. We lay wreaths. We speak words of tribute. And in our memories, in our hearts, we hold them close to us still. Yet we also know, even as their families knew when they last looked upon them, that they can never be fully ours again, that they belong now to God and to that for which they so selflessly made a final and eternal act of devotion.

On Veteran’s Day here at Heritage Care Center, the Life Enrichment Department decorated a bulletin board, made a newspaper ad and held a program to honor our Veteran’s and the wife’s of Veteran’s. We presented certificates signed by the Governor. The American Legion came and helped us with our program They presented the Colors, flag folding and a 21-Gun Salute. Hy-Vee donated flowers for all the Veteran’s and wife’s. Residents, family members and staff enjoyed punch and cookies after the program.

Quality Life:  We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
