Lake City, IA: Celebrating 50 Year’s of Excellence

Shady Oaks Nursing Home hosted an open house Monday, September 2nd, 1968. On Tuesday, September 3rd, 1968 Shady Oaks welcomed their very first resident. We were ecstatic to open our doors and celebrate our 50th Anniversary with the community Sunday, September 23rd, 2018. Familiar faces were greeted at the door by Public Relations Coordinator, Brittany Drew. Life Enrichment Coordinator, Deb Jones hosted the guest book sign-in and door prize table. Visitors and families stopped to mingle with Administrator, Randy Sparks at the history and “leave a memory” table. Guests made their way into the dining room where a talented string duet played familiar soothing tunes. Delicious cake, peanuts, and M & M’s were the perfect treat for the afternoon, paired with coffee, and a sparkling punch. Karl Bieber from Vetter Senior Living was an honored guest at the celebration and read a special letter written by Jack Vetter. The afternoon went on with more speeches and of course reminiscent conversation and laughter. The Shady Oaks Team would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone in the community who participated and helped us celebrate!

Quality Reputation-We will be known for promoting relationships of trust, confidence and loyalty through the quality of our services, the honesty of our people and involvement in our community.
