Lake City, IA: Outstanding Team Members Retires

You can’t retire from being awesome! Georgia Wiederin, Head Cook, retired from Shady Oaks Care Center after 28 years of service on Tuesday, July 31st. On Wednesday, August 1st, we hosted a reception in the main dining room in her honor.  Residents gathered around tables as team members lined up in the door way to cheer and clap as she entered the party. To her surprise, everyone wore a hair net in her honor and for a good chuckle of course! Cake and lemonade were served while Georgia shared her retirement plans of traveling, enjoying quality time with family, and volunteering at Shady Oaks. Culinary Supervisor Minnie Huster commented, “Georgia truly carried out our value of “Serving” with a YES I can attitude. She will certainly be missed in the Culinary department”. We can’t say thank you enough to Georgia for her dedication and teamwork demonstrated while being part of a world class team!

Excellent Teams-We will select and develop team members who radiate warmth, compassion and respect while skillfully performing their duties.
