Springfield, MO: Creekside Welcomes New Community Members with Watermelon

Creekside is at our highest census in years, and has had over 30 people move in in the last six months. When a community member moves in, it can be overwhelming: getting to know the routines and “the way things work” on campus. Several times a year, we have welcome parties at the Clubhouse and Lodge: inviting new and longtime community members to get to know each other, and to meet the leadership team. The leadership team explains what their role is, and how each person can be of service. Explanations of how to sign up for events, dining service hours, and the extent of laundry services are other examples of the orientation that occurs at these gatherings. In July, we welcomed our new members on both sides of the campus with a “watermelon feed.” We are so thankful for those living here at Creekside, and look forward to many interesting days ahead.

Quality Life:  We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
