Lincoln, NE: Veterans Day Celebration at Sumner Place

On November 10th, 2017 Sumner Place honored 14 residents that served our country proudly. Our Veterans Day celebration started with the presentation of colors by AFJROTC from Northeast High School. Each resident entered the program with an escort, patriotic songs were sung, a poem was read by Abby Lehr, People Development Coordinator, a prayer was led by our Chaplain, Pastor Kirk, and Larry Van Hunnik, Administrator, recognized each Veteran and the branch they served in. AFJROTC presented the Veterans with a wooden American Flag as a token of appreciation. Following the program, residents, team members and family members took the opportunity to personally thank each Veteran for their service. Happy Veteran’s Day to all who have served, to those currently serving and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
