Iowa Falls, IA: State Fair Days Of Summer

Posted in: Facilities, Iowa Falls

Aside from the horrible high humidity and heat that makes life miserable, August is an exciting month in Iowa because it is state fair time. The New York Times best-selling travel book, 1000 Places to See Before You Die, lists the Iowa State Fair in the top 25 and it is the ONLY fair it lists. While there is no way to take all of the residents safely to the fair, there’s nothing that says we can’t do what we can to bring the feel of the fair to our residents.
To kick off our state fair season, we did a fun carnival photo booth. Residents and staff trickled in to put on their “silly” faces and enter our “big top”. We hung all of their photos in our hallway right outside the dining room so everyone could see the funny pictures.

Quality Life:  We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
