Iowa Falls, IA: Fall Kick Off Picnic

Our annual fall kick off community picnic in September took place at a new park this year. The City of Alden has created a new park adjacent to their campground. The shelter house is very nice with power outlets, and positioned right next to the fishing area. In addition to the great amenities, the paved side walk from the driveway makes assisting residents to and from the bus an easy and safe experience.
Our maintenance supervisor Dale, doubles as head cook whenever it’s time to grill out, with good reason. Dale is a grill master! With traditional picnic fare like baked beans and watermelon, his hamburgers and hot dogs hit the spot. And smores were grilled up for dessert.
Several people fished after their meals were eaten. Not many fish were biting but Dallas did catch a nice sized bull-head. Mostly residents just enjoyed the sun, and cool fresh air. Some liked watching the birds, while others dosed in the shade completely at peace with the afternoon. It was a wonderful relaxing way to say goodbye to summer and hello to all the events fall and winter will bring.

Quality Life:  We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
