Omaha, NE: Bigger and Better Every Year!

In describing the second annual Fall Festival at Brookestone Village, several adjectives come to mind: yummy, furry, bouncy, and “artsy”; but most of all, FUN! You might be thinking that these are definitely some odd ways to describe the happenings at this year’s festival, but if you weren’t able to attend, you definitely missed out on some big FUN!

When we decided to have a community wide Fall Festival last year, we weren’t quite sure what to expect…but we soon found out how much everyone here loves FALL. We had a nice turn out of residents, team members and their families for the 2015 festival, so we thought why not make this year’s “bigger and better”.

With that thought in mind, we continued the “chili” theme into the evening (our annual Chili/Soup Cook-off was earlier in the day) serving chili dogs throughout the festival; and, yes, all the food was “yummy”. We also thought, “what’s a festival without some farm animals for petting?”, so we had a petting zoo complete with an alpaca; and, yes, all the animals were “furry”. We also got to talking about what kids like to do best…bounce and slide…so we arranged for a bounce house WITH a slide; and, yes, all the kids were very “bouncy”. Lastly we decided that there must be something that kids and adults alike would really enjoy doing together, and brought in both a face painter AND a balloon animal maker; and, yes, they were both “artsy”. The biggest draw for everyone? For sure it was the FUN memories made that night.

The weather was perfect, food was great, there were activities and games galore! What’s in store for next year? Well…you’ll have to come by and see for yourself. One thing is for sure, it will be “bigger and better” than last year as long as our Brookestone family is enjoying it together!
