Omaha, NE: A Lasting Legacy

The courtyards at Brookestone Village are always a favorite spot for our residents and their families…now, on a courtyard off our Prairieview household, it also has a reminder of just how much it meant to one resident in particular. Our courtyards can contain small ponds, fountains, flowers, patio furniture and the occasional family of ducks! Watching all the action through the window on Prairieview was a highlight of Lester Forman’s day.

A couple weeks ago, Lester’s family donated a very special bench to the Brookestone Village family in honor of their Dad. It was hand made by a friend of Lester’s son Terry, and has found the perfect home facing the fountain in the courtyard off of the household on which their dad lived. The back of the bench is a hand crafted American flag, and hanging from it is a plaque containing many different pins representing things important to Lester…including Husker Football, Royals baseball, the Sheet Metal Union, and his time spent in the Navy. It is a lasting legacy and we are honored that our residents will be able to enjoy it for many years to come. A very special “thank you” to Lester’s family for thinking of us!

Integrity:  Our relationships, services and decisions will speak for our desire to always act with honesty, fairness, and compassion. People learn from interacting with us that they can trust us to be who we say we are and do what we say we’ll do. We strive to act in a way that will make God smile at our efforts.
