North Platte, NE: Linden Court’s Clyta Kemp-Alexander Awarded Nebraska LPN of the Year

“The Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year Award is given to someone who exemplifies positivity in their interpersonal relationships with coworkers, as well as with patients and their families. This award is given to someone who is an active community volunteer, and someone who displays qualities consistent with the ideals of licensed practical nursing.

The recipient of the 2016 Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year Award has been an LPN for 29 years, and has dedicated all 29 of those years to long term care. Since 2011, she has been a Certified Dementia Practitioner. This certification has helped her to care for dementia patients with dignity and compassion. She stresses to staff to treat each resident as if they were one of their own family members. Often times, she will bring in old-style items for the residents living with memory loss – such as rolling pins, cookware, and fishing rods – to help them remember something fun from their past.

Not only does she go above and beyond for her patients, but she does the same for her coworkers. She fully recognizes the importance of teamwork, and will work extra as needed for a coworker, and she always encourages other employees to work together for the benefit of everyone.

I’m pleased to announce this year’s Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year is Clyta Kemp-Alexander from Linden Court in North Platte.”

Excellent Teams-We will select and develop team members who radiate warmth, compassion and respect while skillfully performing their duties.
