North Platte, NE: Honoring Our Heros

Linden Court in partnership with AseraCare Hospice put on a Veterans Day ceremony to honor the Veteran residents and nurses of Linden Court. Even though now in wheelchairs and using the assistance walker these men and women served our country with honor and dignity. We proudly honor those who served at Linden Court. Each veteran was recognized and pinned for their duty to this great nation. Life enrichment Coordinator Mary Barnum’s brother John Paul Arias a Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield in the Gulf War Marine Veteran had the honor to pin the veteran residents and nurses of Linden Court. John Paul Arias also spoke during the program. He spoke of the importance of recognizing our veteran. “I will never forget those veterans who came before me and I look forward to seeing the veterans who come after me,” Arias said. The Linden Court staff sang “I’m proud to be an American” by Lee Greenwood and “America the Beautiful” with the help of a packed dining room that spilled into the hallway. Veterans day can be very emotional and there were smiles and tears from the veterans being honor this Nov. 11th. But our country will never forget the service and duty you provided to make this county free.
