North Platte, NE: Thank you Jane for 28 Years!

After 28 years of service to Linden Court and Vetter Health Services, Jane Parker retired on the 28th of August. Jane began working for the Vetter Health Services at Linden Manor downtown on September 15, 1987 where she was a charge nurse. When the move to Linden Court occurred in November, 1998, Jane was a charge nurse and then the house supervisor. On July 7, 2000 Jane became Linden Court’s MDS coordinator, which she held until retirement.
Linden Court was able to celebrate Jane’s retirement before she headed out the door. Jane’s family was able to attend as were staff and many residents. Many staff members wore turquoise to honor Jane. And of course enjoyed great food. Food included thermometers made from pretzels and almond bark to Jell-O shots out of a syringe to sauerkraut chip dip. Last but certainly not least everyone enjoyed bon-bons and ice tea due to the fact that whenever Jane was asked what she was doing her reply was, “I’m eating bon-bons and drinking long island ice tea!”
Jane will be able to spend more time with her family. Her husband Jerry has been retired for several years now and they will be able to spend more time with their three boys (Artie, Derek and Galvin), four grandchildren and seven grand dogs. Although Jane’s immediate family will love spending more time with her, she will be dearly missed at Linden Court. Staff members have mentioned so many wonderful stories about Jane as we have prepared for her retirement. “Jane is one of the happiest go lucky people I have met! She most always has a smile on her face.” One staff member explained, “If you ask her a question, even if it is not in her line of work, she will help you try to figure out the answer. Jane always had time for everyone even if she was very busy.” Not only will Jane be remembered for her radiating smile and helpfulness, but she will also be remembered for radiating turquoise jewelry. Another staff member quote, “Jane has enough jewelry she could open her own jewelry shop but would not because her husband and kids buy it for her and each piece has a story with a wonderful meaning for her.
Our best goes out to Jane and her family.

Thank you for 28 years of service to Vetters.

Excellent Teams:  We will select and develop team members who radiate warmth, compassion and respect while skillfully performing their duties.
