Hooper, NE: Gone Fishing

With the help of Live Well Go Fish, Hooper Care Center was able to take residents fishing on Lake Wanahoo. Live Well Go Fish is an organization of volunteers that serves the elderly as well as Hospice patients in getting them out on the water and the chance to fish. Staff and Residents started the day with a BBQ at the lake and then met up with the Pontoon boat. We were given a cruise around the lake, broke the record for how many semi trucks we could get to honk and then settled in to fish. The recent heavy rains made it difficult to catch fish, but 96 year old Edith who had never been fishing before, caught our one and only fish. It was so much fun to watch the interaction, the smiles and sing along with the radio. Thanks to Live Well, Go Fish for helping us make lasting memories.

Quality Life-We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
