North Platte, NE: Corn and Popping and the Story of Popcorn

Dr. Mark Coffey recently stopped in North Platte to visit the residents of Linden Estates. He is a professor of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics at the Colorado School of Mines.
Mark presented a program all about popcorn. He had samples of popcorn from all over the nation and told the history of popcorn from the Aztecs and Egyptians. Popcorn has played a big part in our cultural and social history.  Residents then enjoyed tasting different types of popcorn and refreshments.
