Iowa Falls, IA: Getting to Know You…Getting to Know All About You!

Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me; as the song goes from the King and I. That’s what our National Nursing Home Week was truly about. The theme was called Celebrating Life Stories, but we struggled a little with what to do with this theme. We wanted to get our residents and our staff talking on a more personal level. We take care of our residents every single day. We know some of their histories, what they like on their burgers or in their coffee, and what makes them smile. We are friendly to them, and think of them as extended family. In a lot of cases we fall in love with these people who we spend more time with than even our own families. But at the end of the day, what do they know about us? Do we really know what they think about? What do we have in common? So, staff picked out a resident to take on a London themed scavenger hunt around the building. They had to find different pictures of London and correctly guess what the pictures were of. Along with that they had to find two or three things they had in common with each other. It wasn’t long before the residents and staff were laughing together and getting to know each other on a deeper level.

Quality Care-We will dedicate ourselves to provide personalized care and services that achieve extraordinary results and exceed the expectations of those we serve.
