Iowa Falls. IA: Once An Eagle, Always An Eagle

It’s been more than 60 years since former Philadelphia Eagle, resident wore the green jersey, but tonight that all changed. He played for the Eagles for a short time in the 1950’s, but he cherishes the memories he made. On Super Bowl Sunday he was decked out in green and white one more time.

Dreamweaver Foundation, a non-profit that fulfills the dreams of terminally-ill seniors, partnered with the Eagles to make his dream a reality. The Eagles gave him a jersey, a hat and wrote him a personal letter.

“Your dedication to our team is a constant reminder to how lucky we are to have individuals like you that stand with us proudly. Battling an illness is incredibly challenging, but one of the very few things that can help lighten that burden is a strong support system, you have a loving team in your corner. Sincerely your friends at the Philadelphia Eagles.”

He is very grateful for the letter and all of the gifts and he says he was surprised by everything. Dreamweaver Foundation also gave him a photo album full of old news paper clippings from his time in college and as an Eagle.

And lastly, the EAGLES won the 2018 Superbowl.
