Lake City, IA: Have Fun at Work!

National “Have Fun at Work Day” was Friday January 26th but we decided to celebrate all week long! Starting that Monday we had themed dress up days of which started with pajama day. Team members dressed up in snuggly pajamas and some even wore slippers. NFL and college sports apparel could be seen all over Shady Oaks on Tuesday for support your favorite team day. Wednesday was wear a hat day and Thursday was twin day. A 90’s theme complete with lots of plaid and jeans brought the dress up days to an end on Friday along with a surprise activity for team members. People Development Coordinator Sara Casey and the World Class Retention Team planned a fun scavenger hunt for everyone to do throughout the day. Clues were spread throughout the facility with a prize waiting at each stop. Candy, lotion, chap stick and more were gathered as team members had a blast solving each riddle and discovering their next destination. “I was very impressed with the World Class Retention Team’s effort to celebrate the Have Fun at Work ‘week’. It was fun to write poems and catchy rhymes to engage all team members in an all-day scavenger hunt.”

Teamwork:    Our relationships are built on mutual trust and respect. We recognize the value and worth of each person we are privileged to encounter, work with, and serve. We seek to understand what is important to others and let people know they are appreciated for who they are and what they do.
