Elkhorn, NE: A Week Long Celebration

Dear Friends,

I wanted to share the special events that everyone enjoyed recently at Brookestone Meadows in Elkhorn, NE. The employees and residents celebrated our 10th Anniversary! My name is Carolyn Howell and I am one of the 10 residents that have lived here for the past 10 years. Our Public Relations Coordinator, Michele Magner surprised us with having our portraits taken by our own Occupational Therapist, Stacy Slater. Then the portraits were prominently displayed in our front lobby for the week of October 30 through November 3, 2017.

There were also 31 employees who were honored for their 10 years of wonderful job performance! There were different activities planned for both groups with lunch served for the entire staff, and Jack Vetter presented each staff member with an award. There were also 10 themed gift baskets raffled and displayed by the PEP club.

On Tuesday, the PEP club surprised the residents with a Runway Costume Fashion Show held in the Chapel. They wore costumes similar to what the actors wore on the production of Grease. It was so much fun!

Wednesday, an Open House was held from 11am – 1pm for the residents, patients, team members and families. The buffet was delicious.

Thursday Pastor Tom held a 10am prayer service in the Chapel and all those who attended share prayers together. It was a beautiful experience.

Friday, the 10th Anniversary residents and their guests had a wonderful meal from the Olive Garden. We each received a gift which we all appreciated.

It was a special for all, as part of the Brookestone Meadows family!

Sincerely, Carolyn Howell
