Lake City, IA: Table A Fare

On Saturday, September 16th, Shady Oaks participated in the SMCH Auxiliary’s Table A Fare. Two tables were decorated with a rustic pumpkin theme, complete with gold accents. The centerpieces were white pumpkins with fall sprays sprouting out of the top. They were placed on wooden slabs to complete the rustic vibe. Gold napkins, silverware, and accented plates completed the fall elegant look. Public Relations Coordinator, Brittany Drew designed the tables and created the centerpieces while Sara Casey, People Development Coordinator helped with some final touches and set up the tables alongside Life Enrichment Assistant, Deb Zenor.
The Shady Oaks group of thirteen residents and volunteers arrived around 11:00 a.m. to view all of the AMAZING tables at the event, and items on the Silent Action. From a smoking cauldron to a “pig out” themed table, there was plenty to view and talk about! Everyone got to enjoy an array of delicious salads and a decadent pumpkin dessert. It was a wonderful event to be a part of and we look forward to participating in it year after year. A special thanks to team members, Lori Mauer (CNA), Allie Carroll (CNA), Deb Zenor (Life Enrichment), Sara Casey (People Development), Minnie Huster (Dietary Supervisor) and volunteer Sylvia Streufert, for helping on this fun outing. Together we were able to go above and beyond for our residents while staying involved in the community, which was a great example of one of our mission, vision and values: Teamwork!
