Springfield, MO: Alpha Tots Visit the Manor

We were given the opportunity to have a handful of small children come visit The Manor from a local daycare, Alpha Tots. Our Life Enrichment Assistant JaRon invited them, as this is the center her son attends. We had half of the group visit Memory Support Household and paint with the residents. The other half stayed to play backyard games and dance with the residents in the rest of the home. One resident who was having a birthday was very pleased with the children serenading an enthusiastic rendition of “Happy Birthday” to her. We did the chicken dance, the hokey pokey, and played some noodle ball and ring toss. The youngsters were unbelievably polite and gentle with the elderly. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience inter generational fun and bonding. We plan on having them visit regularly.

Quality Life-We will create a living environment that radiates love, peace, spiritual contentment, dignity and safety, while encouraging personal independence.
