Columbus, NE: Grandparent’s Day

Brookestone Acres celebrated Grandparent’s Day with a car show and burger bash! This year we had 32 different vehicles with the help of Gene Steffy Ford and local car enthusiast. While residents, resident families, and staff strolled through the parking lot they enjoyed freshly popped popcorn, peanuts, and root beer floats listening to the best 50’s and 60’s car hop tunes. Everyone later gathered for a delicious hamburger, pasta salad, and baked bean meal graciously made and served by our amazing dietary staff and with the help of other departments. We even had families surprise our residents by bringing in their own personal collector cars for them to enjoy. We were blessed with wonderful weather and appreciate all the volunteers and staff that helped make our Grandparent’s Day celebration successful!
