Elkhorn, NE: Eclipse 2017

The Brookestone Meadows Life Enrichment team had a spectacularly unprecedented turn out for our afternoon activity yesterday. About 200 people came together to watch the solar eclipse! Team members all pitched in to help transport residents and patients, distribute chairs, hand out glasses as we prepared for the celestial event.

Everyone eagerly watched the skies as the moon slowly slid in front of the sun. Just prior to the moment of “Totality” we were cheered on by our Chaplain to yell “Hallelujah” as a group at 1:04 pm. As the temperature dropped and skies became darker our group bellowed HALLELUJAH in celebration of this magnificent moment.

Everyone agreed that this once in a lifetime event was worth a little patience and neck cramping. What a joy it was to be able to share it together.

Serving-We succeed by focusing our attention and energies on anticipating and exceeding people’s expectations. Our actions are driven by a “Yes, I Can” attitude and the commitment that we are “Family Serving Family.”
